Annual Student Essay Contest

THE PRIZE :$300

CHECK OUT THE RULES:

  1. Best undergraduate and best graduate paper will each win $300 and membership in the ASEEES for the graduate student (Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies–formerly American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies).
  1. Undergraduate paper must have been submitted for a regularly scheduled course during the calendar year (i.e. spring semester or fall semester). The paper may deal with any aspect of Slavic Studies (history, politics, art, religion, culture, literature, economics, etc.).
  1. Students submitting graduate papers must be currently enrolled as graduate students. The paper submitted may have been written in connection with course work, thesis or dissertation research, or for presentation at a scholarly meeting. SCSS will submit the winning graduate essay to the ASEEES Committee on the Student Prize for the selection of a national winner.
  1. Undergraduate or graduate paper must be submitted by the supervising instructor, who must be a member of SCSS for at least one year prior to submission. There is a limit of one paper in each category per instructor.
  1. Please submit 1 (blind) copy of an electronic version (attachment in word such as doc. or docx.), with cover sheet that includes title, name of student, name of instructor and institution. The paper itself should not have any identifying information on it.
